Variable frequency drives (VFDs) control the speed of compatible electric motors. Depending on the motor, power supply and installation, they may be suitable for applications such as:
Irrigation Equipment
Motor-speed control for compatible irrigation and water-management equipment. The full system design needs to be checked before selecting a drive.
Farm Machinery
Selected motors and auxiliary equipment that need adjustable speed or controlled starting, subject to the drive's ratings and operating requirements.
Choosing the Right Drive
The correct model depends on more than the motor's kilowatt rating. Before choosing a drive, check:
- Motor power, rated current and nameplate details.
- Available supply voltage and whether the supply is single-phase or three-phase.
- The pump or machine's load type and starting requirements.
- Required speed range, control method and any sensors or external controls.
- Installation environment, enclosure requirements and protection needs.
Considering Solar Pumping?
Not every standard VFD can connect directly to solar panels. Solar pumping requires a drive and system designed for the actual DC input, PV array and pump requirements. Please confirm model compatibility and the full system design with us before purchasing; do not assume a standard SINEE VFD is solar-compatible.
